Thanks to the generous $2 million gift from the Tom and Joy Murdough Foundation, work can begin on a new stadium for the Hudson City School District. However, this is just one piece of the proposed athletic complex for the schools.
The Hudson City Schools Foundation needs your help to update the rest of the facilities.
The current athletic facilities are out of date and may cause potential safety issues in the future if we don't do something soon:
- The ticket booth and visitor bleachers create an unwelcoming atmosphere.
- Program requirements have far exceeded the use of Lavelli and Franklin fields
- Potential to lose home field advantage
- The field has been declared unplayable by soccer officials
- The track surface is poor
- Visitor restrooms consist only of portable toilets.
- The bleachers and steps make navigating difficult for the elderly and disabled.
- Inadequate press box
- There are large cracks in the tennis courts
